Trip to Elephanta Caves

It was the day before I was to fly to Kochi...from Amchi Mumbai....
And two of my friends Manju and Shailesh planned for this Elephanta caves outing...
They came down to Mumbai from Pune on there bike on saturday night...

We all stayed that night at my friend Puran Varma's flat in Vashi....

The next day we started early...We had Mumbai's favourite breakfast "KandaPowa" and "Vada pav"..
Then we took a train from Vashi to CST...the mood was fully set for the trip...And we were having gr8 fun..

We reached to CST at 9am...From there we hired a taxi to Gate way of India..

As it was Sunday..there was a huge crowd at Gate way of India..
Then there we had a small photo shoot and then we heard some guys screaming "Elephanta caves for Rs.120 ."

We need to take a boat to reach elephanta caves...there are no private boats available..So we bought 4 tickets and we were on the boat..

Then we asked the boatperson how long will it take to reach elephanta..He told nearly 1 hour..
We were excited..And then we had some good company also...
Some foreigners were on the boat with us...

We had gr8 fun on the boat...Now and then we were taking snaps ..and then we got to see some huge ships which were on cruise....It was really awesome experience..

After 1 hour of journey we reached Elephanta caves....Its an island..
There is arrangement of small train which takes you to the starting point from where we need to buy tickets and climb up some steps to reach the caves....

When we reached there we were very hungry,,,,We had some snacks ...there are some gud restaurants available...but we preferred having wada pav's..as it was prepared and served hot by a aunty who was preparing it on the side of steps....
There is an altrnate arrangment for old people who cannot climb the steps...
There is a wooden carrier on which u shud sit and 4 people will lift that and take u to the top.....
We started climbing the steps..
There were nearly a 50 odd steps...
Then when we reached to the top we found that we need to buy another set of tickets...
We took those tickets and we entered the gate...
At first we have a small house in which all the valuable monuments are kept its a kind of exhibition...
We saw that and next besides that was a cave...We all screamed wow this is tht caves...and we went in....
We were kind a lucky...a madam was explaining about the caves to a set of college boys and girls...
These people were on a educational trip..We joined them...

And then we were taken through a gud tour of all the monuments...(we accompanied the college crowd)...
We took some gud snaps...there.....
then we had our lunch there...
My fiends wanted to shop there..
So there are many shops we get some gud stuffs...They bought some T-shirts and some handicrafts...
then we strated alighting the steps.. and at this time we were fully tired...

We got into the boat...straight way went to sleep

And then we reached back to Gate way of India at 5:30 pm..

Everone bid me bye and they took Vashi train...and later from Vashi my two pune friends left to Pune on there bikes...
I came back to room with all these sweet memories..
